Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £28,000 – £38,000 + Benefits, depending on experience
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with Rail industry experience to join our business. Due to continued growth we are seeking a self-motivated and highly organised QS to work alongside our project team.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team engaged on large scale investment projects across the West Midlands region.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide a leading role to support the projects and the programme with commercial information and advice ensuring compliance with governance
- Providing a positive commercial influence on the strategy, behaviours, and delivery of the operational activities
- Cost reporting – assessing value to date, supply chain valuations and forward forecasting to completion
- Production, management and communication of the periodic CVR documentation
- Driving risk and change management, mentoring the wider project teams as part of this.
- Support with pre and post contract procurement activities as appropriate
- Estimating and cost planning for new projects/elements of work as they arise
- Production of contractual correspondence and leading on record keeping processes and behaviours

Person Specification Qualifications:
- Holding or working toward a construction commercial qualification, such as quantity surveying or commercial management preferred
- Knowledge and Experience Working in a finance or commercial function within the engineering or construction sector
- Knowledge of finance systems Cost and budget administration
- Financial and commercial reporting
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft excel
